Making a hood scoop.  I used 1" thick foam insulation boards and glued them in place.

The soft foam is easily sanded to shape

Polyester body filler is added for the final shaping.

  I decided to extend the front opening and lower the scoop to an absolute minimum.  There will be about 1.5" clearance at the rear of the air cleaner and about 0.5" in the front.  I am using a filter top and a 3" tall paper filter.
