'59 Project July 2005
Steering shaft in place and routed between #1 and #3 exhaust tubes. The steering column is from Ididit with a 2" extension shaft.
Headers and exhaust pipes tack welded in place. Exhaust is 3"stainless steel.
The top spring is the stock 94 composite spring that came with the suspension. With this spring in place the car was much too high in front. The bottom spring is from a 99 Corvette. I modified this spring by cuttin off about 1.75" from each end and relocated the adjustment screws and the rubber attachment cushions.
Here is the new adjustable front spring in position inside the lower A-arm. Not only is the ride height now adjustable but the front suspension is much "softer" now.
Note: After driving the car with the C5 spring I decided to replace it with the original C4 spring.
